BJP has won 69 seats out of 78 seats in Western India. It has made a clean sweep by winning all the 26 seats in Gujarat, has won 42 seats alongwith Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, two seats in Goa, one seat in Daman & Diu and one in Dadar Nagar.

 

 

 


Major upsets

Congress’ bigwigs’ bit dust in the western part of the country. Union Ministers Praful Patel (Bhandara-Gondiya) and Sushil Kumar Shinde (Sholapur) in Maharashtra while Shanker Singh Waghela (Sabarkantha) in Gujarat lost their seats. Chhagan Bhujwal (Nasik), controversial minister in Maharashtra faced humiliating defeat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • BJP's Heena Gavit defeated 9 term Congress MP, Manikrao Gavit in Nandurbur, who was set to create history.
  • In Modi's Gujarat, BJP secured all the 26 seats with 60% vote share.
