Countrywide celebration of Accession Day

Arun Kumar calls Manipal students

undefinedShri Arun Kumar, Director of Jammu-Kashmir Study Centre, New Delhi, addressed the students and faculties of Manipal Institute of Communication in Manipal of Udupi on October 30. In his brief presentation on Imbroglio of Jammu & Kashmir, he dealt mostly on geo-political aspects and strategic importance of the region. Rather than looking back we have to look forward and move, was his call. He urged the contingency to make it a point to visit J&K as a part of academic study. Dr Varadesh Hiregange and other senior staff attended the event. Shri Arun Kumar also had a detailed discussion with the veteran journalist and columnist Shri MV Kamath at the Institute.

Speaking at another function in Mangalore the same day Shri Arun Kumar stressed the need that the voice of the nationalist forces in Jammu & Kashmir should be strengthened. ‘Voice of nationalist forces in Jammu & Kashmir should be strengthened by all citizens of the country. The problem of Jammu & Kashmir lies at originated and nurtured at Delhi not in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said while addressing a gathering of select intellectuals at Mangalore’s SDM College Auditorium in a programme jointly organised by ‘Manthana’- a forum for intellectual debate and Citizens Council Mangalore.

There are reports of organising Accession Day programmes across the country. In Bangalore Shri Daya Sagar, Patron of Jammu-Kashmir Study Centre, addressed the gathering. At Davanagere Varthamana forum organised a talk in which 130 people participated. In Bangalore, Art of living College of Journalism also organised a programme to this effect on October 28.

Seventy five posters were displayed at different schools’ notice boards in Pune. In Mumbai, 47 programmes were organised in Sangh Shakhas. In Delhi, Shri Lalit Mahajan and Shri Kuldeep Agnihotri addressed the gathering. In Noida, Shri Seshadri Chari and Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the function organised by Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch. In Sirsa (Haryana), Shri Virender Singh Chauhan, Associate Professor at Chaudhary Devi Lal University addressed the gathering. In Chennai, Organiser editor Shri Prafulla Ketkar addressed the gathering. In Jammu Dr Jitender Singh, BJP National Executive Member, spoke.
