THE BJP activists in Arunachal Pradesh collected farming iron tools from the last border village, Taflagam, at Chaglagam border outpost in Delai Valley. A programme for receiving the iron was organised at Government Primary School of Taflagam, where the students sang National Anthem and echoed slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vandemataram. Arunachal BJP president Tai Tagak explained the significance of the Statue of Unity and also apprised the villagers of their programme, Sarhad Ko Pranam and Shaheed Shrandhanjali Yatra.
The activists also collected farming tools from the farmers from other villages. The activists also visited Dong village, where the sun lays its first ray in the land of rising sun and found the village being inhabited by lesser known tribe called Meyer and collected farming tools from the villagers. The Speakers explained the aims and objectives of the border visit and collected iron tools from the villagers of Hayuliang.
The Sarhad Ko Pranam Yatra was conducted to pay tribute to Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in the defence of the motherland during the battle of Walong under Walong Sector during the Indo-China War on October 22, 1962. During the Yatra the participants found very poor defence infrastructures in all the sectors, poor road conditions at remote border out post at Chaklagam, non-functioning of hydro power at Haila Pani Hydel Project, non-establishment of forward army base camp at Chaklagam
