Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised countrywide protest seeking resignation of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for his involvement in the coal scam. The protest was held at district headquarters on October 26. The protesters also burnt the effigy of Prime Minister. “After the PM’s involvement in the scam has been exposed by former Coal Secretary PC Parikh, it is ridiculous on the part of the PM to say of cooperation in CBI investigation, because the CBI is directly under his control. If the PM is not guilty, he should resign forthwith and face the investigation,” said ABVP general secretary Shri Umesh Dutt.
