FINS delegation calls on President

Forum for Integrated National Security (FINS) urged the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee to direct the control government for constituting a Border Management Authority for better development in the border areas and better coordination between the security forces and people living in the border villages. The proposed Authority should have representatives from the villages, security agencies and state border administration.

The FINS delegation called on the President on October 1 and presented him a memorandum. The Delegation included Lt. Gen. V.M. Patil, president of Poorva Sainik Sewa Parishad (PSSP), Air Marshal R.C. Bajpai, president of FINS, Delhi Chapter, Lt. Gen. Mandhata Singh, vice president of PSSP, Shri Indresh Kumar from FINS, Shri Ravishankar Prasad, BJP, Shri Rakesh Kumar from Seema Jagran Samiti and Shri Kapoor Chand Vyas of Seema Jankalyan, Rajasthan.

The delegation said that since India’s international borders are demarcated and defined, we should not say that our borders are disputed or undefined. In fact our neighbours and USA also, have occupied our land. We should resolve to take our land back from these countries.

The delegation said each village is a very valuable source of intelligence information. The people need to be trained and motivated to perform this activity. Some kind of incentive and remuneration may be considered by the authorities. There is a need to establish industries in the border areas and generate self-employment. Formation of ‘Village Defence Committees’ and ‘Village Development Committees’ is strongly recommended. Proper carpeted roads need to be constructed and maintained regularly up to the border villages. This will facilitate our defence forces in the movement of logistics and personnel and will also help in the development of border villages.
