(Organiser, 28.7. 2013); This is with reference to the article ‘Secular Nationalism should prevail over Communal Secularism’ by Justice Dr M Rama Jois in Organiser. In his article Justice Rama Jois has given a masterly analysis on ‘Secular Nationalism and Communal Secularism’. Those for whom in thought, word and deed only caste matters and who are therefore communal, proclaim themselves as ‘secular’ for purpose of election or selection as candidates. This constitutes shameless communalism for electoral purposes. Our Constitution does not permit discrimination in favour of or against anyone on the basis of race, religion, caste, sex or place of birth. Yet, come election time, there are vociferous claims on the basis of what is prohibited in the Constitution. And such people call themselves as secular. But parties like the BJP, who strictly eschew such consideration are shamelessly described as communal. The contradiction is astounding and the irony astonishing. How long shall we go on playing this double game? My caste is secular, our religion is not. To top it all we have a foreigner, foreign by race and birth, as our country’s foremost leader. Why, on earth did we then drive out the British forcibly? They were certainly more capable administrators than us, as proved so far, fighting over little things all the time.

Midday Murder Meals (Organiser, 4.8.2013); Apropos ‘Midday Murder Meals’ by Joginder Singh in Organiser. Death has once again struck innocent school children at Bihar’s Saran District, when after consuming the midday meal served in their school a large number of children died. It makes very sad reading even though this is not the first time that such incident has happened. While the Government’s action in serving free food for children to attract them to schools maybe appreciated by few, it is ironic that Government does not pay proper attention to monitor the preparation of the food served, whether it is being cooked in good hygienic conditions and whether the food is tested before it is served. Will the compensation of Rs two lakh offered to the families of the deceased children, bring back the dear dead ones? There are few areas where Government cannot effectively administer schemes due to various reasons best known to everybody. Free meal scheme, prohibition on consumption of liquor, etc. are some of them. It is regrettable that the Government still has not realised dropping all kinds of irresponsible and vote-bank schemes in the eyes of humanity and dharma.I feel that instead of such schemes the Government should take responsibility to make education more effective by providing good teachers, books and other facilities which are totally lacking in all Government schools. Better give good education than bad food.

Import lobbies threat petroleum ministers This is with reference to the statement of Veerappa Moily, Union Minister of Petroleum that oil ministers are threathened by import lobbies to not to ban the import of oil. We believe that Moily maybe true to his words. Perhaps this is not the first time that India is facing such a undue pressure, but we have been receiving such threats since pre-Independence period. The conspiracy is causing damage to our country’s economy but also environment. Again instead of developing and promoting animals like bullock and buffalo as draught animals in rural area, in order to depend less and be self-sufficient in petroleum products and keep our environment clean, we have been blindly increasing the production of beef. It appears that our Indian Government is making cow culture obsolete, which has been running since thousands of years and keeping our country’s agricultural movement and eco-cycle intact, and making our country ‘Bharat’ what it is today.

Batla House verdict a slap on the face of ‘Secular’ Congress (Organiser, 4.8.2013) ; After the Delhi court pronounced verdict on the Batla House, entire Congress Muslim leadership, including likes of Digvijay Singh, refuses to accept the court’s verdict. We have to understand why Congress leadership is behaving in this fashion? Why Congress is risking to lose Hindu votes. Congress is aware that it can’t win Muslims votes in UP and Bihar, where Muslims have an alternate to vote. Perhaps, Congress thinks that by sympathising with the Muslim community it can win or retain Muslim votes in other states where Congress will have a direct contest with the BJP and regional parties and Hindu votes will be split along caste lines. Congress is aware that Muslims will be up in arms for days if one of their fellow being is arrested or killed in terrorist activity by the security forces.

Cow will not die by the curse of crow According to sycophant of Congress Party Nobel laureate Amartya Sen he does not want Narendra Modi to be the future Prime Minister of this country. The reasons given by him for this are totally irrelevant and deserves to be rejected. At the same time I wish to bring to his kind notice that majority of the people of this country want to ignore and do not want to take note of his say seriously. Before opposing Narendra Modi's candidature for PM’s post Sen should demand the removal of some tainted Union Ministers including PM Dr Manmohan Singh for their alleged involvement in various scandals. If he has got guts let him fight against Shri Modi and defeat him in the elections.

The report of a demonstration organised by Human Rights Defense India (HRDI) at Banga Bhawan in New Delhi on August 14, carried in Organiser under the title “Protect Dalit women from atrocities: HRDI” issue dated August 25, 2013 (page-9) inadvertently carried the name of Shri MN Krishnamani, president of Supreme Court Bar Association. He was not present there as part of the delegation and demonstration. The demonstration was led by Shri Rajesh Gogna, Secretary General, HRDI. The error is deeply regretted. —Ed
