This refers to the back page story in Panchjanya dated 7.7.2013 titled Sar par topi tak par kanoon by Alok Goswami. I was shocked to see the hooliganism at the India Gate and on other important roads by hundreds of bike-riders on Shabe-e-Barat day i.e., 24-06-2013. I am very happy to find out that at least one person, i.e. Prof Vijay Kumar Malhotra, leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly has got the guts to criticise this type of hooliganism on busy Delhi roads. Every year these anti-social elements do stunts on motorcycles and harass the public. These mischief mongers stop cars, molest women occupants and sometimes even damage cars, while Delhi Police remains a silent spectator. Every year the Sheila Dikshit government at the Centre overlooks this hooliganism on road since it will effect its Muslim vote-bank. I request Muslim leaders and the government to control these mischief mongers since they are bent upon spoiling the communal harmony in Delhi.

Torch-bearer of Nationalism and Patriotism (Organiser, 23.6.2013); This refers to ‘Torch-bearer of Nationalism and Patriotism’ by Ashutosh Bhatnagar, in Organiser. He has briefly given full history of Praja Parishad Movement and sacrifices made by its members for complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir with India. He has also condemned Sheikh Abdullah for his evil designs, for cruelty and for prosecution of the Hindus. Sheikh Abdullah being a Muslim, nothing better could be expected. The real culprits were Gandhi, Nehru and Patel, who created and promoted Sheikh Abdullah and helped him in his evil designs. Gandhi and Nehru were deadly against the Hindu Maharaja Hari Singh, because hating Hindus was an essential part of their policy. After accession of Kashmir by the Maharaja, he was forced to leave his kingdom and spend the rest of his life in Mumbai. Sardar Patel, the so-called ‘Iron Man’, had no guts to prevent this injustice. On the other hand, Patel persuaded the angry members of the Constituent Assembly, who were opposed to Article 370 to calm down and pass it, in the absence of Nehru who was away on tour. Thus this Iron Man was directly responsible for passing of Article 370 of the Constitution. And the worst thing was, that Nizam of Hyderabad, who refused to accede to India and started looting and killing of Hindus through his razakars, was made the rajpramukh of Hyderabad. What Sardar Patel was doing at that time? He was no better than Gandhi and Nehru, except that he used to make some false statements, only to befool the Hindus, but doing nothing when the time used to come.

Take the lotus to every house (Organiser, 23.6.2013); This is with reference to ‘Take the lotus to every house’ in Organiser by V Shanmugnathan. Criticism for the sake of criticism is no criticism. Just buy putting false charges against Shri Narendra Modi Congress cannot win the 2014 general elections. Congress will have to really search for the charges against Shri Modi – since there are NONE. Shri Modi’s excellent governance has propelled the enviable growth of Gujarat. The prosperity of Gujarat is for anybody to see. It is the Congress which is spearheading a false campaign and struggling hard to misguide the aam aadmi and cling on to power. Infact Gujarat is really shinning under Shri Modi. So false charges against Shri Modi doesn’t cut much ice with the common man who feels cheated by the rampant corruption during the Congress rule that helped venal politicians to devour public funds through a string of scams. People can not be fooled every time by distorting the facts since the general public have become politically savvy.

Aam aadmi wants to know the truth Perfidious Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has warned BJP to cease criticism and attack on him forthwith otherwise he will have to open his mouth to expose deceitfulness of its leaders. As a result they will unnecessary come into trouble. The question arises that who has prevented him to do so? BJP must accept his challenge and ask him to open his mouth immediately. Let Nitish Kumar do it if he has got any guts. Aam aadmi wants to know the truth.

Bharat is a country of great people Few people seems to recall the ancient custom of Bharat where the king used to retire after attaining old age. They generally retired to the forest, i.e. taking sanyas ashram, a farm house in modern times. We brag of the greatness of our country but choose to forget the nobility of the ancient people. We seem to think that there is no age limit for ministers and they (ministers) themselves seems to think so. We do not also have experts engaged on contract basis to help our ministers as they have in other countries and this causes us to lose out in negotiations with advanced countries and world bodies. Let us not be a country of merely many people but also a great country of people doing great things.

A man-made Disaster! (Organiser, 30.6.2013); As always the governments, both at the Centre and the State have shown poor foresight as well as week reflexes in dealing with the Himalayan crisis. Again it is the armed forces who have done a stupendous job, even by sacrificing their lives. True to their motive the political parties have not desisted from taking potshots at each other, even in such a crisis. Now the government’s top priority should be the rehabilitation of the people of Uttarakhand. Epidemics which are looming large should be prevented. Immediate and adequate supply of medical facilities and financial compensation for damage is the need of the hour. Particular attention should be paid to protecting the environment. This is also a wake-up call to take stock of erratic development in the hills.

Never the twain shall meet The repeated betrayal by Pakistan a fickle ally should prick the brains at the Centre about the double deal, distrust and infringment at the LoC where two soldiers were killed as soon as the new PM Nawaz Sharif came to power in Pakistan. This clearly shows that the new set-up will not have any effect on our relationship, for talks have constantly failed. Statements given to fool the people, the wordings remain the same and no spring festival will be celebrated after reading them. Newspapers give prominence to these Indo-Pak talks and say that a new era has begun; opened a second Wagha Gate and that the present PM has promised peace with India as his first priority. You Mr PM want us to believe these inane, contradictory statements? Don’t we know that we both are standing on a battlefield? Waiting and watching whether to go in for a conventional war or unleash a nuclear arsenal? Both are well aware that resorting to the above is suicidal. Any politican worth his salt will realise that we are running on parallel lines. Never the twain—Pakistan and India—shall meet. A festering wound of religion has dug deep and no balm can heal it. It is the people of both the countries who suffer. We are ruled by dirty pseudo politicians. The health of the nation is never on their agenda.

Exempt small cars from toll tax Maharashtra has about 178 toll nakas all over the State on the various roads, controlled by National Highway Authorities, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation and Public Works Department. Actually, it is the prime responsibility of government to build roads for the general public. However, the State has built some of the roads through private participation on “Build, Operate and Transfer” (BOT) basis and have left the general public in the greedy hands of these private road building contractors who have been levying heavy toll on the vehicles in the name of recovery of the cost of the roads. Incidentally, small hatchback cars up to the capacity of 1,000 cc are comparatively much cheaper and are being owned by middle class families. However, the burden of toll amounts to be paid on different roads at toll nakas dents their pockets heavily and reduces the joy of driving their own vehicles. Also, the economic level of owners of costly luxurious sedan cars and the small cars should not be considered the same. The small cars should therefore be exempted from paying toll, like motorcycles.
