Bhaurao Deoras Memorial Lecture
Senior Sangh Pracharak Shri Arun Kumar termed the recent Chinese incursion as a strategic failure of the Government of India. Delivering the 20th Bhaurao Memorail lecture in Lucknow recently he said since 1947 there has been direct and indirect attacks on the country and we had lost a large chunk of our territory to Pakistan and China and what was required today was a complete review of the defence policies. “China had especially made a pact with India which was called the Trishul treaty which was documented and in which it was specifically stated that the former would not cross Mansar yet the Chinese violated it after following it for 100 years. It clearly indicates that the Indian Government is weak,” he said.
He said there are no two opinions regarding Jammu & Kashmir because it is an integral part of India. “Whatever disputes have occurred they are because of the Pakistani aggression and India has not been able to exert the kind of international pressure required to counter it,” he said. He said irrespective of any political party the Kashmir problem has always been highlighted as a fight between the Hindus and Muslims which was an incorrect portrayal. “Similar is the case with the media which portrays the problem in the same manner. The people living in Kashmir as well as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are the citizens of the country and continued mismanagement has caused a lot of harm to all the categories of people which needed to be redressed,” he said. Lt General (retd) Shri Niranjan Singh Malik said neither the state government nor the Central Government was interested in solving the problems of Jammu & Kashmir because it worked in their favour when the condition in the state remained status quo. He said the areas that had been occupied by Pakistan should be got vacated because they were encroached areas. (FOC)
