Rashtriya Sewa Bharati meet in Ranchi
A three day conference of Self-Help Group (SHG) workers was organised by Rashtriya Sewa Bharati in Ranchi from March 1 to 3. A total of 157 workers from 51 selected SHGs of the country participated in the conference. They included 76 men and 81 women and represented 16 states.
The conference was inaugurated by former Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh of RSS Shri Premchand Goel and vice president of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati Dr Narendra Desai. Speaking on the occasion Dr Desai said the prime objective of the conference was to increase interface among the SHGs of different regions so that the people of one region could draw benefit from the experience of the other regions. He said the SHGs have proved to be an effective medium of social transformation in different regions. It made thousands of families self-dependent. He said the SHGs have made lakhs of families self-reliant without any government help.
Deputy General Manager of NABARD Shri Vijay Chaudhary apprised the participants of the schemes being run by the agency. Shri Sundarlakshamn and Shri Gurushanran Prasad of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati, and noted woman entrepreneur of Maharashtra Smt Chandrika Chauhan also spoke on the occasion.
Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh of RSS Shri Suhasrao Hiremath, while speaking at the concluding ceremony, said though every creature runs after happiness and pleasures, the real happiness and pleasure is in serving of others and not in materialistic resources. Delegates from Gujarat introduced a new scheme named as ‘Kalptaru’ and claimed that it would boost the entire SHGs sector.
