Human chain for protection of the Ganga by RSS
THE workers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and many other organisations of Uttarakhand on December 2 formed a human chain on the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar, Uttarkashi and Rishikesh to protect the holy river. The saints and the workers attending the function resolved for the protection of the river. Along with this function, the second phase of Save Ganga Campaign by Uma Shree Bharati also began.
Prior to forming the human chain, the Sangh workers performed yajnas at Har Ki Pauri, CCR Tower, Vishwakarma Ghat, Singhdwar, in Haridwar. RSS Prant Karyavah Shri Shashikant Dixit appealed to the people to join the Save Ganga Campaign. Prant Pracharak Dr Harish described the Ganga as life of Bharat. The Sangh workers also performed gangapujan in Bahadrabad. Local MLA Swami Yatishwarananda was also present on the occasion.
Under the aegis of Divya Prem Seva Mission the people formed human chain at Chandighat from Dakshinkali Mandir Ghat to Neeldhara Ghat in Haridwar. The similar chains were formed at Dunda town of Uttarkashi and in Rishikesh also. Swami Kailashananda and many other senior saints performed the Ganga Pujan and joined the human chain. Dakshinkali Peethadhishwar Swami Kailashananda Brahmachari administered the oath to the people for Ganga protection. Shri Ashish Gautam of Divya Prem Sewa Mission appealed to the people not to pollute the river by throwing garbage into the river.
