LAUNCHING a frontal attack on those engaged in heaping continuous insults on the Hindu society, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat in his historic Vijayadashami Speech at Reshambag Ground of Nagpur on October 24 lamented that the Hindu society was compelled to doubt whether the present political leadership is representative of them and taking care of their interests and aspirations or not? “Who will speak on their behalf?” Shri Bhagwat asked.
Founder of Arsh Vidya Gurukulam, Chennai, Swami Dayananda Saraswati was the chief guest at the function held to commemorate the 88th foundation day of RSS, the organisation that was formed in 1925 on the Vijayadashami Day by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar to organise the Hindu society to make Bharat a strong and vibrant world leader.
Deputy High Commissioner of Singapore Johathan Tow, District Governor of Rotary International, Dr Sanjay Meshram, BJP national president Nitin Gadkari, MLA Devendra Fadanvis Krishna Khopde, Nagpur Mayor Anil Sole, former MP Banwarilal Purohit, Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Sancheti were prominently present on the occasion.
Addressing a fairly large gathering of swayamsevaks in uniform and other sympathizers on a sunny morning Shri Bhagwat said hurting and insulting the Hindu sentiments was resorted to in this predominantly Hindu country by those who just for the sake of votes, or out of the feeling of fundamentalism did not bother to care for the consequences of this policy. Attempts were made to tarnish the image and goodwill of religious gurus by leveling concocted charges against them. Swami Lakshmanananda, who was serving the forest-dwellers, was eliminated and those who perpetrated this heinous crime were still at large.
Heaping insults on Hindu Society
Funds and assets of Hindu temples were being misappropriated or misused; the RSS Chief said adding that deliberate attempts were made to raise controversies regarding the funds and assets of trusts formed by the Hindu saints and temples like Shri Padmanabhaswami temple of Thiruvananthapuram. Though the Hindu society was very broad-minded and accommodative, attempts were made to bring a legislation to defame the Hindu society and vitiate the atmosphere of amity in this country. Poloitical alliances were hatched with the avowed aim of launching indirect attack against the Hindu society through love-jihad and religious conversions. All these compelled the Hindu society to doubt the real intentions of the leadership vis-à-vis future of Hindus in Bharat, the RSS chief said.
Sounding a warning bugle for the Hindu society Shri Bhagwat disclosed that dictatorial, materialistic and fundamentalist forces and forces of rank opportunism have infiltrated the state and central governments with an avowed intention to destroy Hindutva and Hindusthan.
Referring to reports to rebuild mosque at Ayodhya the RSS chief said that attempts were being made to acquire a large plot of land adjacent to Sri Ramjanmabhoomi to construct a mosque for the Muslims. He warned that the issue was pending in the court of law and as such any such attempt would tantamount ot playing with the people’s sentiments and disturbing the atmosphere of communal amity.
He demanded that the parliament should bring a legislation on this issue as soon as possible and pave the way for Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas to construct a grand Sri Ram Temple at the birth place of Sri Ram Lala. He warned that no construction for the Muslims would be allowed within the cultural boundaries of Ayodhya, as this was the only way to solve the issue amicably and sans political overtones.
Security scenario
Expressing serious concern over the prevailing security scenario in the country the RSS Sarsanghachalak underlined the need to promptly augment the efforts to address the problems like inadequacy of latest weapons and ammunitions, technology and other materials that our armed forces require to protect our land. Similarly, there was an urgent need to improve the infrastructure in border areas to facilitate the speedy movements of troops and material along the frontiers. Instead of concentrating on this, our leadership was busy in demoralising the armed forces by debating in public very trivial issues, Shri Bhagwat lamented.
Stressing the need for developing friendly ties with the neighbouring countries in the South Asian region, the RSS chief said that all these countries have very high regard for Bharat since centuries, and share cultural relations with us. We could have utilised this bond to revive and strengthen our relations with them, he said. However, China has taken over Bharat in this regard and succeeded in befriending these countries in its move to tighten its noose against Bharat.
Bharat should have paid attention to the fact that people of Bharateeya origin have been living in these countries and drafted its foreign policy to safeguard their interests and to keep our traditionally friendly allies on our side.
Situation in J&K
The RSS chief was severely critical of the policies of the government that gave encouragement to the terrorists and separatist forces in J&K. These forces had been dormant since a decade due to the strong deterrents used by the government. But going soft over them recently have provided them necessary lifeline to bounce back with vengeance, he explained.
Instead of liberating our areas under Pak occupation and eliminating discrimination against Ladakh and Jammu regions should have been accorded more importance; conducive atmosphere should have been created for the honourable return of the Kashmiri Pandits, who were evicted from their homes and hearths decades ago; and those who had taken shelter in J&K at the time of Partitions should have been given the citizenship. Instead of fulfilling these tasks the government further complicated the issue by appointing interlocutors on J&K and ignored the national interests.
Influx in North-East
Citing repeated government failure to detect and deport the lakhs of Bangladeshi Muslims, who had sneaked in the North-eastern region in spite of Supreme Court ruling, Shri Bhagwat said the recent violence in Assam was the result of this policy of appeasement of minorities for votes. If the situation continued like this then Assam and North-eastern states would soon go the Kashmir way making things difficult for government to tackle.
The situation was under control because of the presence of armed forces and strong moral of the people, who still braving all adversaries were ready to stay within Bharat. The RSS chief appealed to the government to take steps to identity and delete the names of these Bangladeshi infiltrators from voters’ lists and deport them to their country. He also demanded that National Register of Citizens should be prepared in accordance with the clear cut directions given by the courts.
Hindu, a refugee
At the same time, the RSS Chief warned against applying the same norms for the Hindus, who had come here to seek shelter. For the Hindu society world-wide, he said, Bharat is the only land they could claim as their motherland and sacred land. They have every right to seek shelter in this country and the government and the society have to provide them shelter and security. No Hindu should be considered as ‘foreigner’, he said. He advised the Government of Bharat to play its role effectively to protect the interests of the Hindus living in various countries of the world.
Criticizing the incident of Mumbai violence in the wake of happenings in Assam, Shri Bhagwat noted that such an incident acquired notoriety. It showed that the anti-nationals who take pride in the desecration of Amar Jawan Jyoti in Bharat sent dangerous portents for the future.
National interests neglected
Criticizing the policy of the government the RSS chief said that it was a matter of concern that the policy adopted by the administration was detrimental to the national interests. With growing impudence of the fifth-columnists, such forces could bring great ignominy to both the law and order machinery and government itself.
The RSS chief also took strong exception for introducing the FDI in retail, pension and insurance sectors. “This is detrimental to national interest”, he warned and wanted to know as to why the government was in such a hurry to ensure development? FDI in these sectors would ultimately result in loss of income to retailers, lesser prices to cultivators and price rise to consumers.
Earlier, the swayamsevaks performed physical drills and yoga and suryanamaskars. Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghchalak Dr Dilip Gupta proposed a vote of thanks. Vidarbha Prant Sah-Sanghachalak Shri Ram Harkare, and Nagpur Mahanagar Sah-Sanghachalak Shri Laxmanrao Pardikar were also present at the dais.
