IGNORING the repeated negligence by the authorities, self-motivated Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) workers on September 7 took an initiative to repair a road in Kasaragod city, which received a mass public applause. The National Highway-66 (formerly NH-17), which witnesses an all-time busy traffic, mostly on medical emergencies, was deeply damaged due to poor road engineering works and heavy rains. The State and district administration was silent on these basic facilities. Activists of BMS unitedly decided to clean and repair the road. The BMS volunteers, who are professional labourers, were inspired by the RSS ideology of selfless service. They repaired the road in front of Uma Nursing Home near Talipadpu Maidan at Kasaragod.
