IT is harrowing time for girls in Kerala. Despite being the most literate state and topping in women empowerment, Kerala is infamous for being foremost in atrocities against women, rapes, suicides, murders, and divorces.
Everyday opens with new incidents of atrocities against women in trains, buses, offices and public places.
Now religious dimensions is also getting added to the atrocities. Hundreds of Hindu girls are missing from various districts of Kerala entangled in ‘Love-Jehad’. Poor girls are entrapped in love by ISI backed Jehadis and sent to Kashmir/Afghanistan for Jehad against India. Poor Christian girls are also entrapped in Love-Jehad. Already various stories of misery are emerging out of the humiliation suffered by poor young Christian girls in the hands of the jackalish clergy. For more than two decades the church is protecting two fathers and a sister, who were involved in the rape and murder of Sister Abhaya, despite them, admitting to the murder in the CBI narco-test.
Soumya, a poor Hindu girl, was raped and killed by an handicapped beggar, Govindaswami, a year back, in a train in Palakkad. In Jail, Govindaswami was converted to Christianity and the church spent lakhs for saving him. There were attempts to even manipulate the post-mortem report, but due to the dedication of the lady police surgeon who did the post mortem and the public outrage, Govindaswami was awarded death sentence. In Kerala, the situation is such that any murderer, rapist or criminal can go scot-free, if he converts to Islam or Christianity. T Nazeer, accused in several terror cases, is trying to convert several Hindu prisoners to Islam.
Now, conversion bid has forced seven girls of Sasthankotta in Kollam district to attempt suicide.
Seven Hindu girls studying in classes from 7 to 11 in Chakkuvalli Government School, were staying in the SC hostel nearby. On July 23, they didn’t go to school. When search was mounted for them by afternoon, by the school and hostel authorities, it was found they were admitted in a private Christian hospital, in serious condition after having consumed poisonous seeds.
Among the people who rushed to the hospital, were RSS-VHP-BJP activists. To their shock, they found Christian chains and cross on the necks of the Hindu children, who attempted suicide. Also the hospital authorities or the children, who later survived the suicide attempt were unaware, of how they consumed the poisonous seeds or who took them to hospital.
RSS-VHP have alleged that the children were under intense pressure to convert to Christianity and they were forced into wearing cross by the hostel authorities. They have alleged that the Hindu children attempted suicide to escape from being converted to Christianity.
RSS-VHP held protest marches in Sasthamkotta and urged the Collector, SP and SC/ST Minister to hold impartial enquiry.
Emboldened by Sonia-Oommen Chandy led UDF in power in Kerala, Christian groups have stepped up conversion activities in Kerala, especially targetting SC/STs in hostels, colleges and remote villages.
