Give five years for Modi (Organiser, 15.4.2012); In the article ‘Give five years for Modi’by Shri KSR Menon in Organiser it has been rightly said that “Modi’s good governance in Gujarat is a source of great worry for the other parties is no secret. Under his charge the State has become an economic powerhouse for the entire nation. His poll plank of good governance is beyond reproof.”It is in this context it would be right to say that he is the best Prime Ministerial candidate. Infact his work has not only been recognised in India but abroad too. Recently The Time magazine featured him on its cover page. The Wahington Post has put Modi’s story on its front page. The 1,400 words story begins with how widely Modi is being touted as a possible future Prime Minister of India and how some in India call him the country’s most competent leader, even a role model. His prominence represents a yearning among certain sections of the middle classes for a strong, decisive leader, a desire to emulate China’s economic successes and impatience, too, with liberal ideas of human rights and social justice. The story casts him as probably India’s most dashing personality who could kick start the economy. While sketching Gujarat’s rapid growth under his stewardship the story says how business leaders fawn over him for the way he has rooted out corruption and promoted an annual growth of more than ten per cent since he took over in late 2001, something that has attracted investments not only from all over India but from American majors like Ford and General Motors. Almost every village in Gujarat is served by a paved road and has a reliable supply of electricity and drinking water. Agriculture is also growing fast. Ït is that record, his reputation for getting things done, that has positioned him as one of the favourites to become India’s next Prime Minister after election, due in 2014.

Foreign funded NGOs playing havoc with India’s growth (Organiser, 11.3.2012);This is with reference to the front page article of Organiser, ‘Foreign funded NGOs playing havoc with India’s growth’. At the outset I would like to congratulate Organiser for exposing anti-India move of the Church. All these years we were of the opinion that the Church is toiling for religious ruining of India through converting Hindus into Christianity. But now with its anti Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project move it is crystal clear that Church is equally toiling for economic ruining of India. I hope the article will wake-up the slumbering Hindus and Hindu religious leaders and warn them to rise to the occasion or face the ruin. It is shame on part of the Church, Tuticorn Diocese Association and Tuticorn Multipurpose Social Service Society and its administrator Bishop Ambroise who are bent on ruining the nation in which they are living. I condemn and decry this foreign funded Church backed nuclear power chaos in India. I appreciate our former President Dr Abdul Kalam for his valid support to this power project and also appreciate our Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for exposing the foreign elements who are obstructing the economic development of India. Church basically wants poverty, illiteracy and social unawareness amongst Hindu masses to facilitate them easy religious conversion to Christianity. This power project will deprive them of their mission, so they are apposing the project. Shame on such an anti-India activity. It is shame on all those Indians who are supporting this protest.

Rushdie episode: A shame on our democracy (Organiser, 5.2.2012); This refers to an article, ‘Rushdie episode: A shame on our democracy’ by Jagdeep Dhankhar in Organiser. Ulemas and other conservative Muslims have shown an unprecedented arrogance to mean that ‘Damn Constitution’ and ‘Damn Democracy’, but the government must follow what is said. So, the jittery government at the Centre and the State only succumbed to the threat of a handful of persons, and Rushdie was not allowed to join JLF meet at Jaipur, causing disappointment to millions. The moot point is what is blasphemous in his book Satanic Verses? In a debate on 1.2.12 on Times Now TV channel. Assudin Owaisi, an Islamic scholar, who was vehemently opposing the visit of Rushdie, agreed that he had not even read the book and when further asked that why Fir was not lodged against Rushdie for blasphemous matter in his book, he could not reply. In this context it is imperative to write that Hindu organisations have always settled their grievances or objectionable matters on religion through judicial procedures. For instance, matters like Central government’s affidavit in the court that Bhagwan Ram did not exist; Ramsetu was not got constructed by Bhagwan Ram; Ram Mandir and Babri Masjid issue (is now in Supreme Court); Court cases against MF Husain for vulgar paintings of Hindu gods, etc. Husain fled away to Dubai and did not face the courts’ proceeding. Shri Dinanath Batra of Shiksha Bachao Andolan has always fought through law courts to set right the objectionable matters in the school books. So why not Islamic fanatics read Rushdiés book and approach to the law court to justify their stand of blasphemous contents. This is the democratic way to find out, whether the book is to be banned? Similarly, Taslima Nasrin’s books like (i) Lajja (The Shame) (2) Doe-Khandita (Partition) (3) Nirbasan (In exile), have been banned allegedly for blasphemous contents without reading and making public the blasphemous paragraphs. Here the government has again succumbed to the pressure of Muslim fanatics. But what the Minority Commission is doing? It should be their responsibility, to ascertain the facts before banning the books, and if necessary leash the arrogant elements. Merely vote-bank politics is damaging democracy. For the last few years ghastly sectarian violence is taking place in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and now is spreading in other Muslim countries. Human bombs have caused havoc in mosques and busy places. Minorities are selectively targeted. Media is reporting and historians are watching. If some critic writes a book commenting on blood-shed and devastation due to sectarian hatred in these Islamic countries, can he be stopped?

Youth leadership in India (Organiser, 18.3.2012); This refers to ‘Youth leadership in India’ by Dattatreya Hosabale in Organiser. Mahatma Gandhi and his true follower Lal Bahadur Shastri have been glorified in the article, so much so that they have been placed in the category of great heroes like Shivaji, Rana Pratap, Bhagat Singh, etc. Gandhiji and Shastri were extremely anti-Hindu and anti-national. No body in the entire history of India has harmed the nation so much as Gandhiji did. Jinnah and Muslim League argued a number of times, that just as Pakistan would be a homeland for the 100 million Muslims of India, Hindustan (Present India) would be “Sovereign homeland for the Hindus”(Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists included). Britishers also mentioned a number of times ‘Hindu Dominion’ and ‘For Hindus’ while talking about the truncated India. Inspite of this Gandhiji decided, that Pakistan is for the Muslims only, but India would never be exclusively for the Hindus, and Muslims will enjoy special status. This was the biggest treachery which, Gandhiji and his followers have done against the Hindus and India. For such a big sin they can never be pardoned. Certainly, Jinnah, the Muslim League and the Britishers were far more reasonable than Gandhiji and his followers, at least in this respect. What to talk of Lal Bhadur Shastri’s honesty and simple living. Aurangzeb was far more simple and honest in his personal life. He did not use even a single penny from the royal treasury, and by selling Koran handwritten by himself, and by stitching caps, he was earning money to meet his daily needs. He never cheated Islam. Look at Shastri. He was extremely anti-Hindu and anti-national. He specially went to Bombay (Mumbai), after cancelling his foreign tour, only to receive Pope Paul, who had come to India as a Christian head only to boost conversion of the Hindus to Christianity, and specifically stated that communal RSS and Arya Samaj was opposing Pope. He also conveyed to the then Hindu King of Nepal not to attend the Hindu conference organised by the RSS. He also frustrated all the gains of our brave jawans, by returning all territory captured by them from Pakistan, including Hindu majority Tharparkar in Sindh, and Jammu and Kashmir areas claimed to be ours. It is a sin to praise Gandhi, Shastri and their followers.

The only effective measure to save cow (Organiser, 19.2.2012); This refers to the letter of HS Mehtani in Organiser in the Reader’s Forum page. Whatever law the Punjabis follow, but they will never allow cow slaughter in Punjab. The Sikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh had clearly told the Europeans employed in his court that they should never eat beef and smoke. He also wanted to donate the Kohinoor to the temple of Jagannath but he could not do so due to his premature death. During the British period a large number of Namdhari Sikhs sacrificed their lives for the protection of cow. Once I was travelling in the train from Melbourne. An Australian mischievously asked me, “Is cow your mum?” “ Yes, I replied. She is our mum because she has been feeding us just like a mum right from the time of the Indus Valley Civilisation (3,400 BC ). ” He was highly impressed by my answer.

BJP: A party by the people, of the people and for the people The massive defeat of the Congress Party in the recent State Assembly elections shows that the days of the old party like the old ‘Mughal Darbar’ in the late nineteenth century is coming to an end. If the leader of the coterie admits that there are too many leaders in the party and that is the reason for the defeat since nobody is listening to each other, it is an admission that she who is heading the party is no longer an effective leader. The Prince of Wales is a total failure and an utter misfit to lead the party in any future elections. The BJP which is a cadre based party with a clear ideology and having a strong support base in various areas like professionally, trade, manual and intellectual workers, students, teachers, etc should build up the party to forage a strong vote base. The BJP should have a group of able leaders in every State who should support and supplement one another to make the party strong and not individually strong to push one another out for position sake. The task is long and arduous and right leaders must emerge. The organistaion is not only for winning elections (like the Congress Party) but to support the government it has elected in carrying out effectively the party’s mandate. The party should work effectively and relentlessly without fear or favour to eradicate corruption wherever it exists. The BJP should be truly a Janata party, i.e. people’s party. In other words it should be of the people, by the people and for the people and not merely a ruling party for five years. It should build friendly relations amongst all sections of the people from all parts of the country with a strong patriotic sense of being Baratiyas, one and all.

Time to deliver The end of Mayawati’s autocratic and corrupt administration in Uttar Pradesh is welcome. The results reinforce the political maturity of the electorate in penalising poor governance. Now, the big challenge for the Samajwadi Party is to deliver on its electoral promises. It has been rightly said that winning an election and meeting the aspirations of the people who have reposed faith are two different things and the Samajwadi party would do well to focus on the latter. The Congress not only paid for its lack of organistion but also its arrogant leaders who went about flouting the EC’s code of conduct. The Party’s problems are further compounded by the disappointing show in Punjab, Goa and to a lesser extent in Uttarakhand. If anything, it is a pointer to its waning fortunes, an outcome of its disastrous performance at the Centre and policy paralysis.

Learning curve After the party”s dismal performance in the recently concluded by-poll elections in Uttar Pradesh, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is trying to resume his political battle in State by analysing the outcome but unfortunately with the same negative approach with which he started the journey. It’s high time for Rahul and moreover Congress to understand the fact that the voters today are more intelligent; in the current political scenario there’s little left for them to hope and trust these politicians for a positive growth. Voters today know how the political atmosphere works and they are not ready for any more negativism. They want growth and development rather than listening to the flaws of other political leaders. For Rahul Gandhi & Co. it would be better that instead of criticism they should try to develop their own strength and work for the correction of self- weaknesses that will hopefully make an appropriate base to fight and broader their chances in upcoming polls.

Rahul comments a major cause for Congress debacle How long will the people of Uttar Pradesh go to Mumbai and Delhi for begging? Such kind of scornful comment made on them by Crown Prince Mr Rahul Gandhi during election campaign became too costly for the Congress party which is one of the major cause for its poor performance in Assembly elections. Prudent electorate of UP took revenge on Congress. And Congress Party bit the dust. No such indiscriminate comments should be made in future if Congress wants to survive for some more period in Indian politics. Otherwise a day is not far off when it will be wiped out completely.
