Annual function of Sewa Kunj, a project run by Sewa Samarpan Sansthan, Uttar Pradesh, was organised on January 14 at Babhani, Sonbhadra. Vanvasis from across the districts and the students studying in the hostel and their parents participated in the function. A health camp was also organised on the occasion. Apart from Dr Mahesh, Shri Sekhnath Singh and Shri Ravindra Shekhar from Jashpur also treated the patients.

Addressing the gathering the Kalyan Ashram joint general secretary Shri Kripa Prasad Singh praised the sewa activities of the Sewa Kunj and applauded the efforts of the workers who created a marvelous ashram where hundreds of students are pursuing their studies. Apart from a hostel, there is also a school, goshala and a dispensary at the ashram. The ashram is situated in the region which is surrounded by Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh, Siddhi district of Madhya Pradesh, Garhwa of Jharkhand and Kaimoor of Bihar.

Sewa Samarpan Sansthan also runs projects for Vanvasis at Kachnarava, Dudhi, Renukut and Dala. It is to be noted that there is no electricity connection in the ashram and all the activities are run through solar energy. The medical van run by the ashram caters to the health needs of the people in the entire district. Zonal organising secretary of the Kalyan Ashram Shri Manirampal and patron of the ashram Shri Ravindra Prasad Shukla also addressed the gathering.
