Rashtriya Sikh Sangat delegation calls on Uttarakhand CM

A high level delegation of the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat led by national president Sardar Gurcharan Singh Gill called on Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal ‘Nishank’ on July 2. The delegation urged the CM to improve the facilities for pilgrims visiting various Sikh religious places of the State. Sikh Sangat national general secretary Shri Avinash Jaiswal, Uttarakhand State president Sardar Sukhdev Singh Namdhari, Sardar Amarjit Singh Anand and some other leaders were present.

Presenting a memorandum to the Chief Minister Shri Gill said that Uttarakhand has many Sikh religious places including Hemkund Saheb, Nanakmatta Saheb, Reetha Saheb, Nanakpuri Tanda Saheb and Guru Gyan Godari Sahib. He said many pilgrims from across the world visit these places every year. He urged the Chief Minister to improve the condition of roads and the arrangements for the pilgrims at those places. He also appealed to the Chief Minister to provide land on the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar for Gurudwara Godari Saheb.
