National convention of Shaikshik Mahasangh women wing

THE national convention of Akhil Bharatiya Shaikshik Mahasangh’s women wing was organised in Pune from December 26 to 27, 2010. Inaugurating the convention Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtriya Sevika Samiti Pramilatai Medhe said the women teachers have more responsibility towards the nation than the general masses. She called upon the women to draw inspiration from the women who worked for the nation even in opposite circumstances.

National general secretary of the Mahasangh Dr Vimal Prasad Agrawal spoke about the aims and objectives of the organisation. Sushri Indumati Katdare spoke on the role of teachers in imparting good samskars to children. Dr Gita Singh stressed on the ways to save the children from being trapped in bad habits. Smt Anjali Deshpande spoke on different challenges the women are facing today in different fields. Dr Medha Somaiya discussed the life and works of different women who achieved outstanding results in the society through their extraordinary works. Dr Rekha Bhatt spoke on the rights of women from the ancient period to present day.

Speaking on the role of women teachers in social transformation Gitatai Gunde said the presence of women in teacher organisations is less than their growing number in educational activities. She stressed the need to impart education to the girls who discontinue their education due to any reason. Dr Shweta Prajapati said if the teachers work for the betterment of the society the society would definitely think for their betterment. Smt Sanjivanitai Raikar spoke on the challenges being faced by women while working in the society. Dr Nirmala Yadav of the women wing, national organising secretary of the Mahasangh Shri Mahendra Kapur and others also spoke on the occasion. (FOC)
