A programme by Hanumat Shakti Jagaran Samiti was organised at famous Dakshineshwar Kali Mandir complex in Kolkata by Hanumat Shakti Jagran Samiti to mobilise public support for the construction of Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This programme was part of the countrywide campaign beginning about four months back.

Since early morning, the Dakshineshwar temple complex was wearing a festive look. Thousands of Rambhaktas including women and children flocked the place and waited anxiously for the programme. Some offered puja at the temple first while few others took a holy dip at the Ganga. It was at 10am that the programme commenced with Vedic hymns and Hanuman Chalisa Path. Saints of different Hindu missions and organisations participated in the programme. Apart from Swami Bandhubar Maharaj, who presided over the function, the other eminent speakers were Sri Ranendralal Bandhyapadhaya of RSS, Dr Pravin Togadia of the VHP and Sree Debananda Giri Maharaj of the Rishra Prem Mandir and also the President of the Samiti.

Dr Pravin Togadia while echoing the sentiments of the Hindu society declared that the Hindu society would neither beg nor request for the temple, it demands the same by its determination and strength. He said the temple should be grand and befitting of Sri Ram’s stature and grand standing. He attacked the present Congress leadership for shielding declared terrorists like Afzal while maligning Hindu saints and social workers like Swami Asheema-nandji. He also compared the pre-Independence anti-India and anti-Hindu forces of Muslim League with the present dispensation of the Congress Party and the CPI/CPM.

Dr Togadia also unveiled the unique VHP initiative to save cows and its progeny, where at present some 200 goshalas are undertaking the manufacturing of highly effective, eco-friendly and low cost soaps, shampoos, fairness creams, mosquito repellents etc from gau-mutra (cow’s urine) and gau-gobar (cow dung). In this, he claimed that one litre of gau-mutra is being procured for Rs five approximately making the very economy of cow slaughter unviable.

Over 10,000 Rambhaktas participated in the programme. Loud cheers of popular slogans like Jai Sri Ram, Har Har Mahadev etc echoed the entire temple complex throughout.

Hanumat Shakti Jagaran in Bengaluru
TO rekindle the spirit of Hindutva, VHP to organise 150 Hindu Samajotsav Programmes in large scale in all District and Taluk headquarters of Karnataka in the month of December.

It seems the giant task of Hanumath Shakti Jagaran Samiti, a unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in reaching two lakh homes through door-to-door campaign in Karnataka to seek support favoring early construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya, has started yielding results. There was a sea of humanity assembled at Malleswarm Play Grounds in the heart of Bengaluru on the occasion of Hindu Samajotsav programme on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Two huge groups arrived at the malleswarm grounds in style at 4 pm by taking out Shobha Yatra procession called ‘Hakka-Bukka’ and ‘Budda-Basava’ which started simultaneously at 2.30 pm from two different places. All along the procession there was a joy and enthusiasm among both young and aged. Cheering, display of eye catching banners, celebrations in the form of music and dance, bursting of crackers and loud chanting of slogan- Navella Hindu, Navella Ondu (We are Hindus, We are united) was attracting the passer by, establishment owners and vendors, along the busy shopping streets. Mass Homa and Group chanting of ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ transformed entire grounds with a blissful atmosphere and the religious heads who were seated on the dias added more glitter.

Speaking on the occasion, Su.Ramanna, a senior RSS Pracharak said that Ayodhya is a National Pilgrimage centre and everyone irrespective of caste, creed and religion should support the noble cause of building a great temple for Sri Ram at Ayodhya as a mark of respect to the sentiments of crores of Hindus. Shruthi (unwritten message coming from generations through word of mouth), Shastra (Vedic knowledge) and Purana (scriptures) are saying that birthplace of Sri Ram is Ayodhya and we have to simply believe that, he added. He mentioned the incident of a communist asking young volunteers of Ramjanmabhoomi movement to produce evidence to prove that Sri Ramachandra was indeed born in Ayodhya. Communist lost words when he got an unexpected strong reply from young boys asking him to produce evidence to prove his father as his real father. He said Allahabad High Court gave an excellent judgment keeping the view of belief but unnecessarily ordered a portion of land to Sunni Wakf board. So it is necessary that Parliament should protect the interest of majority by passing a resolution to handover entire land to Hindus. If Parliament can protect the interest of minorities during Rajiv Gandhi’s rule by introducing Muslim Women Protection Bill why not exercise similar move and help Hindus, he questioned?

Su. Ramanna was upset for calling RSS and other Hindu organisations as terror outfits by UPA Government. He said the Home Minister Chidambaram is not brave enough to pronounce the word ‘Green Terrorism’ for the brutal acts of Islamic terrorist outfit which created panic in many bomb blast cases in the past but coining the word ‘Saffron Terrorism’ which is not existing. He wanted to know when Rajiv Gandhi killers can be zeroed in and punished why not UPA is not taking any action against terrorists, anti-nationals and Muslim fundamentalists.

Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puthige mutt, one of the renowned eight Udupi mutts, said Hindus are like big serpent which is sleeping. When a serpent is sleeping, even children will throw stones and try to do mischief but a serpent’s hiss will make them run for cover. Hence, Hindus should not tolerate injustice and fight for the cause of Hindu-rashtra, he opined. When there is a decrease in resistance power, we feel sick. He called for every Hindu to think and act like Hanuman who can never be defeated.

Mallikarjuna Devaru of Sarpabhushana Mutt explained the need for protecting the Hindu culture and requested everyone to make a habit of visiting Temples regularly in order to get peace of mind and to encourage tradition which is slowly fading away. Shanthamuni Shivacharya of Shivaganga mutt, asked every Hindu to be alert and not to send their child to schools where they object to Hindu way of life like wearing flowers and applying Tilaka on the forehead. Madhusudan-andapuri Swamiji of Onkar Ashrama, administered the oath.

Ramanujacharya of Ramadevara mutt, Melukote, Narayanananda Saraswati Swamiji of Guru Gnanendra Mutt, Vijayanagar, Padmacharya of Shankara Mutt, Hoskote, Ramanananda Swamiji of Geetha Mandira, Vidyaranya Pura, Sripada Bhakti Vedanta Dandi Maharaja of Sri Ranganatha Goudiya mutt, Hesaraghatta, Keshava Hegade, VHP Karnataka General Secretary and others participated.
