THE Coimbatore chapter of Friends of Tribal Society (FTS) was honoured with Appreciation Award for its outstanding services through Ekal Vidyalayas in the region. The Award was presented by the Rotary Club Millennium on April 8. The activists of the Club had come for Vanyatra on Gandhi Jayanti last year to Kaaliyur village under Ooty region. There were around 24 children in the Vidyalaya at that time. When the Club members visited the school, the Acharya present there introduced them with the students and Kshetra Abhiyan Pramukh Shri Poovarajan explained the functioning of the Ekal Vidyalaya Abhiyan.
The Club members were impressed with the Ekal Vidyalaya activities and it motivated them to become a part of the FTS. The Award includes medal and a citation. It was presented by Rotary District Governor Shri Rtn. Capt. Mathew.
