A unit of Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat was formed in Guwahat on February 14. Shri Kalyan Chakravorty was appointed president while Shri Utpal Dev was appointed general secretary of the new unit. Shri Santanu Gupta will be the treasurer. Speaking on the occasion, Grahak Panchayat national general secretary Shri Somnath Khedkar explained various aspects of the consumer movement in the country and the need to protect the rights of the consumers. Shri Pronab Kumar Chakravarty explained the purpose of the meeting, which was presided over by Shri Kalyan Chakravorty.
