WELCOMING the recent action by Union HRD Ministry against 44 unqualified Deemed Universities, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad demanded that the whole Tandon report should be made public. In a statement issued from Mumbai ABVP general secretary Shri Vishnudutt Sharma said, “It is a welcome step on the part of the Union HRD Ministry. But there should be justice to the students who are going to be affected with this decision. The government should take effective steps to ensure that the study of the affected students should not disturb.” He said the Yashpal Committee too had questioned the functioning of such deemed universities. “The ABVP feels that the issue involves huge corruption and strict action should be taken against those who granted recognition to such universities. There should be a high level inquiry against all such officers,” Shri Sharma said.
