“This is a fact that the soul of Bharat lives in villages but unfortunately we could not understand it even after 62 years of Independence. It is irrelevant to dream of a developed India until the focus of development is on the villages,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. He was speaking at a foundation stone laying function of a Sangh karyalaya in Samastipur, Bihar, on October 14.
Shri Bhagwat appealed to the people to develop the feeling of unity in villages. He said the village that does not have the feeling of sneh, and people there do not share each other’s sorrows and happiness, could not make progress. He called upon the villagers to work for cattle protection. He emphasised the more a person makes progress, the more the country achieves development. “Sixty two years have passed since we achieved Independence, but we still hesitate to disclose our identity. We should feel proud of calling ourselves Hindu,” he added.
Talking about recent developments with China, he said the day China touches India it would be divided into three pieces. “India has the burial place of all the danavas of the world. Danavi forces have always been defeated here. Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh were segregated from Bharat but today they are on the verge of divisions. China must read the history of India before doing any mischief,” Shri Bhagwat said.
Earlier, speaking at another function at Manika village under Sarairanjan division of Samastipur, Shri Bhagwat said Sangh is committed to its goal and not to any individual. He addressed three meetings during his tour of north Bihar. These meetings were attended by former Pracharaks, present Pracharaks and present Sanghachalaks.
Shri Bhagwat also honoured 15 people with “Gram Gaurav Samman”. Most of the honoured persons included those who did remarkable work in villages. One of them is Mohammad Suleman of Dalsinghsarai, who is a famous painter and he presented a picture of Goddess Saraswati to Shri Bhagwat at the function. Others who were honoured included Shri Vimal Kumar for agriculture, Shri Arjun Prasad for organic farming, Shri Devakinand Jha for environment protection, Shri Ramvaran Prasad for education, Shri Maheshwar Narayan Singh for literacy, Dr Vijay Kumar Mishra for health, Shri Nand Kishor Rai for cow protection and Shri Dineshwar Chaudhary for herbs.
