The 20th Dr Hedgewar Prajna Samman for the year 2009 will be presented to Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati, present pontiff of Sri Ramchandrapura Math, for his outstanding services to cow protection. The Samman will be presented at a function to be held on June 13 in Kolkata by Dr Murli Manohar Joshi. The Samman consists of a cheque of Rs 51,000, a citation and a memento. Born on July 25 in 1975 in Shimoga district of Karnataka Swami Raghaveshwara Bharati is fully dedicated to the cow protection and has preserved rare breeds of cows in his Ashram. He conducted an awareness drive all over the country for cow protection in the year 2005. He is also conducting many service projects for the needy people. (FOC)
