The first Sangh Siksha Varga of RSS in Kerala began at G Ramachandran Public School at Neyyattinkara in Thiruvanantha-puram on April 20. The School is situated in a large 10 acre compound, which is the residential property of the Gandhian Sri G Ramachandran. The school and the Gandhian activities like Khadi spinning are now managed by Bhagini Mythili, a disciple of GR and a devotee of Swami Yogananda Paramahamsa.

Inaugurating the 20-day Varga, which comprises of 360 swayamsevaks from four districts of Kerala, Bhagini Mythili said she was happy to be host to dedicated youth who are together trained to serve the nation. ?By this, their health, attitude, aptitude and knowledge are developed to act for the nation. My gurus always talked of performing ones karma with prayers to god. They harped on sustainable utilisation of nature'sand nation'sresources. They believed god is a factory of intelligence and a reservoir of bliss and energy?. She concluded saying that this should be our mantra in life.

Former naval commando and Yoga Acharya, Guru Hanuman Das said RSS'sdharmayuddh for preservation of nations? culture and unity was praised by Gandhiji and Pt Nehru. ?Mahatma Gandhi attended a RSS camp in Wardha in 1934 and had meals with the swayamsevaks. Pt Nehru realised the RSS patriotism in 1962 China War and asked it to participate in the 1963 Republic Day Parade. The Uniqueness of RSS is that there is gods? grace in its karma. The entire daily 21,000 breaths of an RSS man is serving the nation and culture and hence he is a soldier of Bharatiya samskar,? he said.

Sah Prant Pracharak Sri J Nandakumar said the shiksharthis were fortunate to be in the camp in such divine atmosphere. He said Swami Chinmayananda, while inaugurating a Sangh Shiksha Varga had described the swayamsevaks as ?white clad sanyasis.? Here we have a white clad sanyasini and a saffron robed fighter to bless us, he added. He said the RSS and Hindu Thought believe in the perfect blending of will, knowledge and action for individual and national goals. RSS has taught the Hindu society to bear difficulties for the progress of the nation.

Two other first-year Vargas are scheduled to start at Thodupuzha and Thirunavaya comprising of 400 swayamsevaks each. The second year OTC of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry will start in Pondicherry.
