In his first ever public appearance after becoming the Sarsanghachalak, Shri Mohan Bhagwat visited Dikshabhumi in Nagpur on the morning of March 26. He was accompanied by many important Sangh functionaries of Nagpur.

?The rebuilding of Bharat based on the ancient and lasting moral and spiritual values of this land was the dream of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. I have come here to take inspiration from his work,? he said.

Offering his tribute to Dr Ambedkar, Shri Bhagwat said, ?sometimes the contribution of great persons are not recognised immediately. But in the due course of time everybody realises it. It is time now that we should highlight Dr Babasaheb Ambedakar as one of the great saviours of Bharat?.

The secretary of Dr Ambedkar Memorial Committee Shri Sadanand Phulzele welcomed Shri Bhagwat. Speaking on the occasion, he remembered the visit of previous Sarsanghachalak Shri KS Sudarshan and said that such visits create a healthy goodwill amongst various sections of society. Many prominent workers of the republican movement and neo-buddhist movement were present at this function. Shri Mohanji also visited the gallery at the Deekshabhumi.
