To destroy the Hindu dharma throughout the country, a conspiracy is going on a large scale. Its result is arrest of Swamy Jayendra Saraswathi who is working to protect the Hindu dharma and that of Sadhvi Pragna Singh and killing of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati. There is no safety for those protecting the Hindu dharma and this is causing concern to the Hindu religious heads. In the light of this development, it was decided that saints belonging to 13 institutions in the country should come on one platform and protect the Hindu dharma. From the thoughts of these saints emanated ?Dharma Raksha Manch? which has started programmes to safeguard customs of Hindu religious faiths throughout the country.

Under the leadership of Chamarti Umamaheswara Rao, a retired senior IAS officer ?Dharma Raksha Vedika? has been started in Andhra Pradesh. Prof. D Manohara Rao is general secretary of this Vedika. It was decided to propagate it in various ways from February 1 to March 15, 2009 by printing 25 lakh pamphlets, 3 lakh books and 5 lakh stickers and circulate them to each and every person from village level to city level and from an ordinary person to an intellectual. In addition to this, it was decided by the Vedika to conduct village sabhas in every village and propagate the protection of the Hindu dharma by way of a movement. The Vedika found fault with those groups pursuing only vote bank politics by harming the spirit of secularism and their lack of will to contain the terrorist activities taking place for the last few years in the country. The Vedika functionaries reported that due to increasing activities of religious conversions, various dharmic leaders, saints and leaders of social institutions are deeply concerned. They informed that the situation would be brought to the knowledge of the people in a big way regarding the attitude and role of the various political parties towards jihadi terrorism, religious conversions and religions.

In a similar way Vedika gave a call that political parties contesting elections should incorporate all the issues enumerated by the Dharma Raksha Vedika in their manifesto and called upon the people to vote for such parties only. In this programme Dr Hanuman Choudhry, Justice Gopala Rao, convener Shyam Prasad and representatives of Dharma Raksha Vedika from various districts participated and planned activities for the future.
