?Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and our ideological guru Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya have placed lofty ideals before us. These ideals have inspired us throughout our long and arduous political journey, giving us strength and showing us the path at the most trying times. We must not give up these ideals for any temptation of power and pelf. Political power for us is an instrument to serve the nation and build an India of our dreams. And right now, it is an imperative need to halt India'sdownward slide, which, if not reversed, can have cataclysmic consequences,? said Shri LK Advani while addressing a huge gathering of intellectuals and academicians in Delhi on February 11, on the occasion of death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The programme was organised by Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation.

On this occasion, the Foundation presented Boudhhik Yoddha Samman to six great personalities, namely, Shri MG Vaidya, former spokesman RSS and a nationalist thinker, Shri Ramshankar Agnihotri, president, Hindusthan Samachar news agency, Anand Mishra ?Abhay?, Editor, Rashtra Dharma, Lucknow, Shri Gopal Sachar, senior journalist, Jammu, Shri Ramesh Patange, Editor, Vivek, Marathi Weekly, Mumbai and Sudhir Pathak, Editor, Tarun Bharat, Nagpur.

Shri Rajnath Singh answered a question from a viewer Rashmita from West Bengal through live webtelecast, who asked him whether the party has diverted from the ideals of Deendayalji and Syama Prasad Mookerji. Shri Singh clearly stated that the party which was born out of a nationalist movement can never deviate from its goal, instead the philosophy of Pandit Deendayalji has become more relevant today.

Shri Ranga Hari, former Akhil Bharatiya Bauddhik Pramukh, RSS, answering a question from a viewer, Anil, from Mumbai said that we have to differentiate between the fanatic elements in Islam and Christianity and the common masses following these religions.

RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Sureshrao Joshi said that in today'spolluted political environment, remembering Deendayalji itself was a great service to the society, as Deendayalji was a great seer and a proponent of clean politics.

BJP leader Smt Sushma Swaraj and BJP national organising secretary Shri Ramlal were also present on the occasion. Secretary of the Foundation Dr Harshvardhan spoke about the aims and objectives of the Foundation. Shri Tarun Vijay, Director of the Foundation, elaborated on the plans as to how to collect the works of Pandit Deendayalji and Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
