“Only India can guide the world towards the safe path to save it from the destructive crisis. But the essential requirement is the political will at domestic level. The active participation of the intellectuals, the universal acknowledgement of the fundamentals of the Indian vision?sincere efforts in this direction?and lastly the attempts to extend the fruits of development to the last man are needed?, said Kshetra Sanghachalak of the northern region of RSS, Dr. Bajranglal Gupt, while addressing a meeting, of the intellectuals in Rajkot. He stated, ?The present global recession has been generated by America and the European nations, and the world has no choice but to take shelter into a propitious model?a churning out of the vision of India, if it wants to be bailed out.?

Elucidating the propitious model, Dr. Gupt said, ?It is based on the precept of ?All be prosper, all be happy? and it is rested on the four pillars?bread for all; health for all; education for all; and, employment for all.? Dr. Gupt, clarifying the idea of the model in details, said that bread, health, education and employment are nothing but the inscribed symbolic objectives. In fact, they should be understood as having a larger meaning and in the proper context.

In the beginning of this collective thinking exercise, Dr. Gupt discussed in details the causes, consequences, effects and remedies of the present recession. He said, ?The present global slowdown betrays the complete failure of the economic policies of the United states of America and other European nations.? Their models of the development are wrong; the path they selected was misleading. The thing that grouses contempt for America, particularly in this situation is that the guardians of America do not have guts to confess honestly that they were wrong. On the contrary, they try in vain to vindicate their policy. When they received the bitter criticism from all the directions, they were compelled to admit that there were defects in the regulatory system and the failure of the financial institutes.

Regarding the effect of the global recession on India, Dr. Gupt commented that the destructive flood entered India but could not damage much, only because the Indians have not abandoned their traditional life-style, in spite of adopting globalisation.

Many intellectuals, including the Mahanagar Sanghachalak Shri Nalinbhai Vasa attended this meet.
