At the annual meeting of Council of Representatives of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), UK, held on November 30 at Milton Keynes took the serious note of the recent terrorist attacks on Mumbai and strongly condemned the heinous act against humanity.

?It again clearly points to a seemingly deep conspiracy to destabilise India. It is quite clear from the reports that terrorists had come by sea route to Mumbai from beyond the borders of India, were well armed with sophisticated weapons and were fully prepared to fight a prolonged battle. We commend the superb efforts of Indian security forces who displayed their wisdom and valour in their careful handling of this most sensitive and dangerous situation. Indeed they were faced with the difficult task of fighting the evil forces of terrorism and at the same time saving lives of people being taken hostages, many of whom were foreigners including the British. We salute those brave officers who sacrificed their lives and express our proud gratitude to them for their services to humanity,? the resolution passed at the meeting said.

The HSS wholeheartedly sympathised with the families of those who became unfortunate victims of the indiscriminate terrorist attacks and urged the authorities in India to do whatever is necessary to help them overcome their grief. ?We urge the Government of India, all political and social organisations and their leaders to forego their differences acknowledging that it is a serious challenge to the country, its people and the rest of the world. We have no doubt that India and all other countries who have been targeted by this specific brand of fundamental terrorism are fully aware of their motivation and location of their training and operational bases,? the statement added.

The resolution said the nations of the West and East which are affected by terrorism, must look beyond the realms of their national interest and get together to plan a common worldwide strategy against it before its perpetrators succeed in realising their dream of creating a global conflict of cultures.
