Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) demanded a CBI enquiry into the Government'sdecision to engage private banks and institutions to manage EPFO funds. A resolution to this effect was adopted at the national executive committee meeting of BMS held on September 8 in Pushkar, Rajasthan. The Executive Committee also decided to launch a nationwide signature campaign against this decision of the Government from November 1 to 15. At least one crore signatures will be collected from the members/employees of EPF Scheme and will be submitted to the President of India Smt Pratibha Patil. ?BMS feels that the Government, instead of selecting public sector banks, hurriedly appointed private and foreign banks/institutions and pushed the hard earned money of poor workers in a risk zone. Therefore, it should be investigated by CBI enquiry. The BMS will also launch a nationwide agitation from September 17 to October 2 to demand abolition of contract labour system in the country. During this period dharnas and demonstrations will be organised at state and district levels all over the country. BMS all India leaders will address the dharnas and demonstrations.
