The condition of Sumerupeetha-dhishwar Swami Narendranand Saraswati who is on an indefinite fast over the cancellation of land to Amarnath Shrine Board in Kashmir is deteriorating day by day. RSS National Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar and Kashi Prant Pracharak Shri Shivnarayan went to see him on August 17 and requested him to break the fast. Shri Indresh Kumar said the agitation going on in J&K over the land has identified who is anti-national and who is patriotic. It was ninth day of the indefinite fast by Swamiji on August 17. Before Shri Indreshji, former Prant organising secretary of VHP Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Zilla Sanghachalak Dr Satyendra Mishra, Sahsanghachalak Dr Shukdev Tripathi also met Swamiji and extended their support to the cause.

VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia also met Swamiji on August 18 and requested him to break the fast. He said the people of the country would not let Kashmir become another Pakistan. He said the Hurriyat Conference, PDP and a section of Kashmiri Muslims are agitating for making Kashmir Pakistan. In such a situation it is the responsibility of all the countrymen that to prove Kashmir an integral part of the country. If the land was not restored to the Shrine Board it would prove that Kashmir is no more a part of India. Later he addressed a Hindu Sammelan at Dumrao Bagh.
