Gujarat Chief Minister, Shri Narendra Modi said that with visionary initiatives of all, inclusive growth is taking shape in Gujarat, where a new word?RURBAN is emerging. This will give a new direction to rural development with urban amenities. With the soul of rural community and facilities of urban infrastructure, an inclusive development for all is expected to take place in the entire Gujarat. Shri Modi was speaking at the CII National Conference Seminar on Development through Growth and Challenges of Governance, in Delhi. He exhorted that the best practices of various states should be documented and researched for healthy competition of development amongst the states to build a strong India. Stating the role of political stability, he said that he is the longest serving Chief Minister of Gujarat and as such there is political stability in the state which has led to new initiatives and people'sparticipation. ?My state is a ?Policy Driven? state in which grey area for corruption is minimum,? he said. ?Gujarat has developed a non-controversial model of SEZ with the maximum land area has been covered without a single land dispute and social tension. We have enacted SEZ law and policy?, he emphasised. Gujarat CM also outlined a new concept of ?Children'sUniversity? for empowerment of children with the scientific child development perception. He said that only wealth creation will not solve the problems of society, but visionary initiative will provide a solution with the people'sparticipation. He informed that the enrolment of students in schools of Gujarat have been cent per cent in the state now and the drop out has been reduced to three per cent only. Shri Modi stated that the country needs to discard the English mindset.

Gujarat is not only the front runner in industry sector, but now the state has achieved 12 per cent growth in agriculture sector?over three times the national average and has the largest once under SEZ'sin India. Gujarat had produced 23 lakh bales of cotton five years ago and now the production figure has reached at 1.23 lakh bales. The state has done remarkable work in social infrastructure sector also.

In an endeavour to strengthen the villages of the state, Shri Modi said that all villages of Gujarat will be connected with broadband facilities within two months. All urban facilities will be provided in villages.

Shri Modi said, ?Development is not the mere creation, of wealth. It should be ?by all? and ?for all?… Gujarat is fast proceeding from a ship breaking state to a ship building state. Maximum employment will be provided to unemployed persons of the state in the industry.

Earlier, Chairman of CII, Shri Sunil Mittal, applauded the all round development of Gujarat.
