Haryana unit of BJP staged a dharna in New Delhi against the kidney transplant racket. The dharna was led by Shri Vijay Goel, All India Secretary and incharge of the State. Prominent Haryana leaders including M.P. Shri Kishan Singh Sangwan, Shri Ram Vilas Sharma and general secretary Captain Abhimanyu also addressed the protestors.

They strongly condemned the heinous crime and demanded immediate resignation of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Shri Goel said that Shri Hooda should own the responsibility of the failure of the state administration and resign from chief ministership. Shri Hooda himself has admitted that organ transplant business had been going on in some states including Haryana for quite some time.

He said it was quite evident that the organ transplant trade could not function without the connivance of state administration and police. He demanded that officials and policemen conniving with those involved in the racket be suspended immediately.

Shri Kishan Singh Sangwan said that Shri Hooda cannot wash his hands off the racket as it was a total failure of the state intelligence apparatus. He wondered that now police were saying that doctors doing such operations were not even qualified.

Shri Ram Vilas Sharma said that Health Minister Ambumani Ramdoss had talked about instituting a CBI inquiry into the racket. He said there should be no delay to order such a probe as there are reports that it had international connections.

Captain Abhimanyu regretted that a lot of poor people were becoming victims of the trade. He said it could only be checked with stricter legislation. He demanded that the Centre should bring a Bill in Parliament to amend the existing law on the organ transplants.

The dharna was also addressed by Shri Tejpal Tanwar, Shri Ramchandra Yadav, Shri Arun Maheswari, Smt Gargi Kakkar, Shri Gopal Sharma, Shri Pravesh Mehta and Shri Umesh Aggarwal.
