Orissa's initiatives for development

UNIDO has been a partner to Orissa in the last five years, starting with its technical assistance in design of Industrial Policy 2001. Subsequently, UNIDO has been working with government in implementation of two projects, namely ?Investment Promotion? and ?Cluster Development? as part of the IPR Implementation Programme. During the discussions with Shri Uramoto, Deputy Director General and other senior officials of UNIDO, the delegation discussed the progress made in the UNIDO-supported projects as well as possible arcas for future cooperation.

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) is the platform to negotiate multilateral trade rules, monitor their implementation and handle trade disputes. United Nations Conference on Trade & Development (UNCTAD) is the global forum for the integrated treatment of trade and development and the related issues of finance, investment, technology and sustainable development. The International Trade Centre (ITC) handles strategic and operational aspects of trade development, focussing on exports.  (FOC)
