The Judicial Commission which probed the brutal and savage massacre of eight Hindu fisher-brethren in Marad on May 2, 2003, had pointed a needle of suspicion on Hilal Mohammed, an NRI, for having funded the carnage. Hilal Mohammed, nicknamed as ?FM? Finance Minister is close to IUML (Muslim League), NDF and other communal outfits.

Although, the CPM, which rode to power on the strength of votes from fringe Islamic militant outfits, did not book him, Hilal Mohammed was arrested a month back, on an extortion case filed by a Muslim businessman. The court remanded him and later released him on bail. His passport was surrendered and he was asked to report to police after every fifteen days.

Now reports have come that ?FM? has fled to Bahrain, through Bangalore, despite his passport in Judicial custody. His passport Z 1717047 with additional booklets is valid upto 2010. With the active connivance of Indian Embassy employees at Bahrain, Hilal had declared that his passport had expired and had obtained additional booklets in October 2006. While surrendering his unexpired passport at court, he had whisked away unused booklets. Using these and with active connivance of police, Embassy officials and Customs, he has fled to Gulf, to safe havens, perhaps never to return.

The State governments request for CBI probe has been turned down by the CBI (a drama between CPM, IUML and Congress). The BJP and Hindu organisations are gearing up for legal and mass battles for CBI probe as opined by the Judicial Commission. Hilal'sdisappearance at the juncture is to water down the case and investigations.

With a pro-militancy CPM rule in Kerala, with active support of IUML strongman, E. Ahmed, the Minister of State for External Affairs, even Dawood Ibrahim can come to Kerala, relax in the house boats of Alapuzha, have Ayurvedic Massage and go back to Pakistan to plan more bomb attacks in India!  (FOC)
