Agartala (Tripura): ?I joined extremist group for the sake of Swadhin Tripura (Independent Tripura). I was encouraged by Samir Deb Barma, self styled area commander of All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF). He took me to Bangladesh three years back where the group leaders trained me on arms operations for 15 days. Now I can realise that the dream of Swadhin Tripura can never be fulfilled. So I wish to return to normal life.? This was the statement of Manoj Debbarma, a hardcore extremist of ATTF. He was arrested by 37Bn. BSF on April 27 from Dukhia Choudhurypara under Khowai Sub Division in West Tripura. At the same time two of his associates were killed after a short exchange of fire.All of them were to cross the border towards Bangladesh.
In an exclusive interview Manoj told that Bangladesh is the safe shelter for Indian terrorists.?I myself saw the members of Bangladesh Rifles visiting Satchari extremist camp on several occassions,? he said. ?They know us personally and never prevents us from free movement in the border areas? continued the 20 year old tribal boy.
According to him a large number of sophisticated arms are available in the camp to which he belonged.There are also 12 women cadres who are only to please the leaders.Michael Debbarma is the boss of the camp who is designated as the Area Commander.The camp is habited by 30 cadres.ATTF Chief, Ranjit comes to the camp off and on.
