In our country different types of trades (handy crafts) are elevated for the total self-sufficient and development of the villages. The persons in the villages with great respect, dedication and devotion to their trades are doing social service. Shri Somepally Somaiah Memorial Seva Adhyan Trust organised a public meeting on 5-2-06 in Keshav Memorial School to honour the skilled and dedicated workers in their respective trades. Justice Bixapati inaugurating the meeting said people are running after foreign culture and at the same time they are ignoring the rural skills. Shri Ekka Chandra Shekar, Secretary, while presenting the report said Shri Somepally Somaiah worked as pracharak for over 50 years and also worked as Seva Pramukh of South India and in his name various service activities are being conducted. Shri Haldeker, Kshetra Karyakarini Sadasya said, the coordination among all the trades makes the village progressive. The handicraft traders are facing many problems, even they are not getting proper encouragement from the public and government. The media are giving preference to sensational news, murders and rapes and so on. Due to this our country'simage is coming down. The media has to give preference to the positive news. The persons honored on the occasion are from Nada swar team, black smiths, potter men, Vaddera, charmakara, tailors, barbour, masons, kati kapari, carpenter, sculpter and some other traders. Shri D.
