Misgiving about fatwa:
Apropos Fatwa: The parallel Islam (Organiser, 5-2-2006); I am surprised how the writer could term a fatwa as the parallel Islam. If a follower of Islam or a seeker of the truth wanted to know the guidance of Shariah concerning an issue or a solution to the problem faced by him, is it wrong for a scholar of the Shariah to furnish information about the matter? Since Islam is the living religion and not any dogma, the expertise opinion (fatwa) has a relevance and followers surrender to it voluntarily.
