Describing Hindutva as an attempt to reveal the truth, RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan has said the flag of Hindutva would hoist all over the world by the year 2011 and India should be ready to bear this gigantic responsibility. Shri Sudarshan was speaking at a function held in New Delhi by Hindusthan Samachar to celebrate the birth centenary of its founder Dada Saheb Apte. Describing Dada Saheb Apte as a person with multifarious personality, Shri Sudarshan said it was Dada Saheb, who played a key role in transmitting news in various Indian languages. Shri Sudarshan also released a book authored by Dr Kuldip Chand Agnihotri on Dada Saheb Apte.

Speaking at the function, Shri Ashok Singhal, VHP president, said the then government exploited the allegation of Gandhiji'smurder against RSS. ?It was at that time the need of a news medium that can release the news concerning our version was felt. It was with this view that the Hindusthan Samachar was set up and Dada Saheb Apte played a key role in this project. Apteji also played an important role in formation of VHP,? he said, while releasing a souvenir on Dada Saheb Apte.

Shri G.V.G Krishnamurthy, former Election Commissioner of India, said whosoever served the country in any form was venerable. Dada Saheb Apte was also among such people. He said many fighters of the freedom movement were journalists and journalism was necessary for a healthy democracy. Shri Kidarnath Sahani, former governor of Goa, termed Dada Saheb Apte as the best social worker who devoted his whole life in the service of the society. He said Dada Saheb established various conventions in journalism. Shri Amritlal Batra, chairman, Chhatrapur Temple Trust, presided over the function. Shri Ramshankar Agnihotri, chairman of Hindusthan Samachar and Dr Suresh Vajpayee, patron of the agency, were also present on the occasion.
