Sevika Samiti training camp
VSK, Lucknow
A 17-day training camp was organised by Rashtra Sevika Samiti in Varanasi. A total of 163 trainees from class ninth to post graduation, participated in the camp, which began on May 29 and concluded on June 15 at Nivedita Shiksha Sadan, Tulsipur. Speaking at the concluding ceremony, Smt. Shailatai, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Bauddhik Pramukh of the Samiti, said that no nation of the world could become powerful or developed without the cooperation of women. ?One of the reasons for our slavery for years was non-unity among women. It was due to this fact that Mausiji founded the Samiti in 1936,? she said. Shailatai pointed out that the Samiti was going to organise a big conclave of women in Nagpur in November this year in which over 10,000 women are expected to participate. She called upon the participants to use the training they had received at the camp for the welfare of the society and also educate women. Before the speech of Shailatai, the Sevikas presented a physical drill. Dr Nilam Singh was Sarvadhikari of the Varga. Dr Uma Gupta, principal, Arya Women'sCollege, Varanasi, who presided over the concluding ceremony, praised the efforts of Rashtra Sevika Samiti.
