Mamaji receives Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman
RSS has vision and action ?Ram Madhav
Hindusthan Samachar

?The 20th century became the laboratory for different doctrines like communism, socialism, capitalism and mafiaism of Italy. But today in the 21st century, the world is witnessing fascism, socialism and mafiaism as a revile or rebuke. American intellectual, Samuel Huntington wrote that communism could now be seen in the poorest areas as well as in the richest universities. Capitalism has also failed to ensure that it can help uplift the people from distress. Intellectuals are now busy finding why all these ?isms? have failed. Everybody now wants to return to his roots,? said Shri Ram Madhav, RSS spokesperson. He was speaking at a function organised by Shree Burrabazar Kumarsabha Pustakalaya in Kolkata to present the

Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman to Shri Manik Chand Vajpayee (popularly known as Mamaji) on May 8.

Shri Ram Madhav said that the RSS founder, Dr Hedgewar, after working actively in the Anushilan Samiti, Indian National Congress and participating in satyagrahas, tried to find out why, despite having such a large population, fertile land and rich culture, India had remained a slave for so many years. ?When Swami Vivekananda, immediately after returning from Chicago said that the whole world was looking at India to show the correct path to the world for salvation, probably a very few people had believed him. But now, the RSS has proved that Swami Vivekananda'sprediction was correct. The RSS is eighty years ahead of the present world intellectuals,? he said.

Shri Rajendra Sharma, editor, Swadesh, said that in the last 15 years the Kumarsabha Pustakalaya had awarded 15 ratnas, but this year it had chosen a true manik. He said Shri Manik Chanda Vajpayee was a true Swayamsevak. ?In his life he fought two elections, once against Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia and the second against Congress stalwart Narasimha Dixit. But both of them later joined the Jana Sangh or the BJP, because of the exemplary behaviour of Mamaji.

Shri Kedar Nath Sahani, former Governor of Sikkim and Goa, said that Shri Manik Chand Vajpayee was the person who drew people from different walks of life into the Sangh stream. ?He is the person who brought even Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee to the Sangh shakha,? he added.
