Baba Sayyed Hashmi Maharaj catregorically refused to call Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) a fundamentalist organisation.

In reply to a question regarding RSS? efforts to clear the misgivings from among the Muslims and seek their cooperation in developing this nation, he said that it was wrong to brand the RSS as fundamentalist organisation. To have strong faith and belief in any ideology cannot make them fundamentalist. Only those are fundamentalists who try to impose their ideology on others by using force. The RSS people do not indulge in this kind of imposition of thoughts and ideology on others, therefore they cannot be described as fundamentalists, he clarified.

When his attention was drawn towards the observation of RSS Chief K.S. Sudarshan that Bharat is ?Dar-ul-Islam? in real sense of the term as all the 73 sects of Muslims live here in peace and tranquility, which he made at Jaipur conference of Muslims, Baba Hashmi Maharaj appreciated this view but said that Bharat could be more aptly described as ?Dar-ul-Aman?, Land of peace.

Later addressing a congregation of Muslims at Milan hall, Baba Hashmi started his discourse with invocation in Sanskrit. He said, ?I shall begin this discourse with invocation from the world'soldest language that is Sanskrit?, and he began with Sanskrit verse ?Twamekam varenyam, twamekam sharenyam?.?

He said that God has created entire universe for the use of mankind but man has not realised the purpose of his own creation. Therefore, God has sent prophets or Nabis to earth from time to time to teach them about the mission of their life. Adam was the first Prophet and Mohammed was the last. In between the God sent many nabis or prophets including Moses, Jesus, Ram, Krishna, Nanak etc., he said, adding that these prophets came to guide the mankind, to purify their hearts and to show the ultimate reality of life to them.

Islam advises against abusing any religion because the Almighty had said: ?I send prophets for every community?, he said.

He further said that Bharat has already established its supremacy in the fields of Dharma and adhyatma, and very soon it will emerge as a super power in the field of economy and other such aspects of human life.

He advised the congregation not to get involved in the old, outdated things and move further with changing times but without changing the basic tenets of Dharma.

Stating that the self-submission before the creator is the supreme Dharma, Baba Hashmi said that those who do not follow this path are mere animals in human form and body.
