Scholars and experts on international politics, at a seminar in New Delhi, stressing the need to fight against Maoist insurgency unitedly assured the people of Nepal the support of every national citizen of India in this fight. The seminar was organised jointly by Antar Rashtriya Sahayog Parishad (ARSP) and Himalaya Parivar on April 7. Shri Yashwant Sinha, former Union Minister for External Affairs, Shri Indresh Kumar, convenor, Himalaya Parivar and Shri Karna Dhoj Adhikary, Ambassador of Nepal, were among the prominent speakers present. Shri Baleshwar Aggarwal, general secretary, ARSP, presided over the seminar. Speaking at the seminar, Shri Indresh Kumar pointed out that more than 15,000 Nepali people had been killed in Nepal's?people'swar? during the last one decade. ?The people of Nepal need to understand the conspiracy behind the Maoist insurgency and should raise their voice against it. Nepal should fight against it unitedly. Every citizen of India is ready to cooperate with Nepal in this fight,? he said. He hoped that Nepal would implement constitutional monarchy with multiparty democracy and that peace would be restored in the country soon. The scholars also cautioned the people of Nepal to identify the forces that are supporting Maoists in their country and also understand the fact that any anti-India activity in Nepal would prove detrimental to the interests of Nepal.
