Denial of US visa to Narendra Modi has exposed the real fifth column in the country. The US action has come as a culmination of a sustained campaign by the Left-leaning calumny mongers led by psuedo intellectuals, writers and agencies, fat with foreign funding and patronage. They work for selective cover up of terrorists and their anti-national activities.

Political parties and the Government of India stood as one, rising above polemical rhetoric, charging the visa denial to an elected popular Chief Minister as an interference in the internal justice system of the country. The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh and the External Affairs Minister, Natwar Singh exhibited welcome alacrity in condemning the US action.

But there were voices and bodies led by the communist hate-India lobby, which could not conceal their glee at the US affront. The communists who claim to fight US imperialism were the ones who not only supported the US action, but through sustained anti-India campaign, built up argument and pressure to portray Modi in bad light. The fodder for the alleged civil rights lobby in the US was supplied by the communist-communal mill working in tandem in India. Some sources tell us that the language of the US State Department in its statement clearly resembled the partisan propaganda against Gujarat that some of the Indian groups like the Sahamat and Secularism Combat have been handing out in the last two years. That most of these Leftist outfits in the country owe their sustenance to liberal aid from western funding agencies is no more a secret. It is also well known that the agencies who fight communism in the West are the ones that promote communism and anti-State activities in the developing world.

Nobody has ever accused the Indian communists and their fellow travellers of any concern for national pride. In fact, they have always worked hand in glove with fissiparous elements working to defame and divide the country.

The visa incident could not have come at a more appropriate time for Modi. His excellent work as an administrator, his thrust on development and social harmony, and above all, his focus on the growth of his state as an investors? and tourists? destination had begun to bear fruit. His popularity graph was on the upswing and the latest incident has now helped to create a halo around him. Narendra Modi has become a symbol of buoyant Indian pride. He has become a rallying point for nationalist forces in the country. And his name rings fear in the hearts of the enemies of the nation.

This is also a time to introspect. Should we be too much bothered about a visa? True, thousands of Indians have made US the country of their destiny. For a large number of young technocrats, US is the dream destination for a brighter career. But the majority of Indians hate the US bully. The Super Power'spoor record of protecting democracy, double standards on civil liberties, horrendous profile in human rights violations, numerous instances in barbaric invasions on hapless innocent nations of the developing world make also a monster image of the US for many Indians.

Modi can make a manly resolve. Never ever to seek a US visa in his lifetime, never ever to visit the State that tried to humiliate him, a Gandhian self-denial of the desire of a US visit, in a haughty, noble Indian style.
