Sangh Samachar Sewa Bharati donates Rs 2 crore for tsunami relief work

Sewa Bharati, Gujarat, has donated Rs two crore for relief and rehabilitation of tsunami victims in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Pondichery and Andaman and Nicobar islands. The cheque of Rs two crore was handed over to Shri Amrutbhai Kadiwala of Sewa Bharati, Tamil Nadu, in Ahmedabad. Shri Vallabhbhai Savalia of Sewa Bharati, Gujarat, Shri Pradeep Jain and Shri Mukundrao Deobhankar of Vishwa Samvad Kendra, were also present on the occasion. Thanking the Sewa Bharati for its humanitarian gesture, Shri Govinda said that more than 9,800 volunteers were involved in the relief and rehabilitation activities, spread over a period of more than 45 days. The rehabilitation package of Sewa Bharati, Tamil Nadu, includes construction of 1,800 permanent houses and 20 community halls, distribution of 24,000 kgs of fishing nets and 70 boats with engines. The total rehabilitation package is expected to cost about Rs 30 crore. Sewa Bharati also intends to take up other welfare activities like setting up child care centers, health care centers, trauma and counselling centres and youth clubs in some of these places.
