Uttaranchal unit of BJP observed the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya as Samarpan Diwas all over the state. Speaking at a function held in Dehradun, state BJP president, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, said that Pandit Deendayal'sphilosophy was to give importance to the service of poor and needy. He believed in simple living and high thinking. Former Chief Minister, Nityanand Swami said, ?We should help the society to get rid of fear, corruption and hunger and try to alter the direction of the society like Pandit Deendayal had done.? He stressed the need to follow the ideals shown by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Leader of the Opposition, Matbar Singh Kandari said that there was an urgent need to work for the uplift of weaker sections of the society so that they might assimilate themselves into the entire society.
Another function was held in Rishikesh where Shri Manohar Kant Dhyani, former state BJP president, emphasised the need to work for betterment of the society so that the dream of Pandit Deendayal could come true. Shri Prem Chand Aggarwal, state president of BJP'sbusinessmen cell, said that the nation should be made strong according to the ideas of Panditji.
