“Liberation of Tibet is not important for Tibetans only, but is connected to the security of India also,” said Shri Indresh Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Sampark Pramukh of RSS. He was speaking at a function organised by the Bharat-Tibet Sahayog Manch in Madgaon, Karnataka, recently. He said the issue of Tibet was not just a question of Tibetan refugees; it was connected to various other issues like environment, terrorism, etc. “Chinese activities in Tibet have disturbed the balance of Indian rivers and India is on the verge of facing heavy floods.” He pointed out that China was trying to create population imbalance by causing forcible migration of Muslims into Tibet. “Not only this, China has also established a missile station in Tibet and converted the region into a cantonment.” He said as long as Tibet was not liberated from the clutches of China, there would remain a question mark on Indian security. Presiding over the function, Shri Ananth Kumar Hegde said that Tibetans should pray every morning to be able to see the next sunrise in Lahasa. They should continue to follow their traditions and preserve their cultural values. He said, “India had always welcomed refugees, but certain communities had taken unfair advantage of this and today have become a problem for the country. But Tibetans have won over our hearts as culturally we are all one. Therefore, India will continue to work for liberation of Tibet,” he added. Shri Gudak, general secretary of Tibetan Youth Congress also spoke on the occasion. A large number of Tibetans participated in the function.
