“By giving up the path of violence the Naxalites should engage themselves in constructive work as only constructive activities can bring about positive changes in the society. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is committed to develop such a mentality in the society through its shakhas all over the country. It is the result of these efforts that a number of Swayamsevaks have shown today remarkable results in different spheres of life,” said Shri K.S. Sudarshan, Sarsangha-chalak of RSS. He was speaking at a function held at Milar school ground in Patna on November 29.
Shri Sudarshan said that the Naxalites were inspired by the book, Guerrilla Warfare, authored by Che Guevara, who claimed that only a few committed people could change the government. “He has basically formulated a three-staged scheme for it. First, find out a lonely spot, impart training to select activists there and then start talking about formation of a revolutionary government after getting the people freed from exploitation. Second, repeatedly attack government institutions and the well-to-do people of villages through trained activists. The continuous attacks will demoralise both the government and the society and you will create your influence in the rural areas. Third, repeat these activities in urban areas also. Attack big business establishments and continue to attack and you would ultimately form a revolutionary government in urban areas also. The Naxalite thinker has also set two conditions for it. First, the revolutionaries should have the image of a devadoot among common masses and the people should have no other alternative than Naxalism,” Shri Sudarshan said.
Talking about Naxalism in Indian context, Shri Sudarshan said that unfortunately some anti-social elements had jumped into it and they, after getting training, were looting and killing innocent people. They also torture villagers to indulge in unlawful acts. Since such people do not have any goal before them, they split after sometime. That is why today there are over fifty Naxal outfits in India alone, he added.
The Sarsanghchalak asked the Naxalites that what was the guarantee that peace would be restored after the establishment of their regime. “Communist Russia and China, who killed over one crore people in their respective countries, are today following the capitalist countries. The fact is that one has to do constructive work for bringing about lasting changes,” he said. Shri Sudarshan advised Naxalites to leave the path of violence and divert their strength to constructive activities. Only then it would benefit the country and the society. “There are people like Sachchidanand Bharati, Rajendra Singh Rana, Manohar Parthi who are bringing a silent revolution in their respective areas. The country, in fact, needs the same type of revolutions. The Sangh through its shakhas is developing similar mentality and those who want to bring about social change should follow this path,” he concluded.
Earlier over 1,700 uniformed Swayamsevaks took out three route marches and also presented physical drills. Thousands of distinguished people of Patna were present to listen to the Sarsanghchalak. Shri Babuaji, Kshetra Sanghchalak, Shri Sidhnath Singh, Sah-Kshetra Sanghchalak and Shri Shatrughan Prasad, Prant Sanghchalak, were also present at the function.
