Since inception the Kalyan Ashram has received an extraordinary helping hand from the King of Jashpur Nagar province, Shri Vijay Bhushan Singh Deo. He used to help various social and religious organisations for the protection of Janjati culture and traditions. At a function he said that, ?only the Kalyan Ashram has fulfilled his aspirations.? He used to donate 10 per cent of his Privy Purse to Kalyan Ashram. When the government stopped it, he donated 250 bigha agriculture land to Kalyan Ashram so that the work would not be affected. Later his son, Kumar Dilip Singh Judeo who got his education in Kalyan Ashram hostel, also followed the path of his father. He associated himself with the homecoming programme of Kalyan Ashram and brought Vanvasis back by washing their feet.
