?Hindus have the responsibility to safeguard the world culture and also to show the way to the world. Need of the hour is that Hindus should be powerful and united,? said Shri Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of Vishwa Sangh Shivir held in Nashik from July 25 to August 14, 2004. He said that almost all the communities of the world were following the principle of ?my truth is the only truth?, but Hindus believed in unity in diversity. ?Today people are fighting on trivial issues like language and community and some people affirm that only ?their way of worship can lead to salvation. But Hindus believe that ?all ways lead to God?,? he said.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Shankarrao Tatvavadi, convenor of RSS Vishwa Vibhag, said that Hindus, who live in about 125 countries, had achieved important places for themselves in their respective countries. He pointed out that the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh was working throughout the world to make Hindus aware of their culture. Besides the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh's750 upshakhas in 32 countries, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sewa International and India Development and Relief Fund were also active in various countries, he informed. Shri Madhav Chitle, an international expert on water and land management, said that Hindus? influence was growing world over and it was this influence that the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, had to say at an international convention of Muslims that the days of fundamentalism were over.
